In their Comment to Resentini et al. (2020), Mesalles et al. pointed out supposed fundamental inaccuracies concerning analytical aspects and the tectonic interpretation of fission-track data. This would invalidate the main conclusions of our study. Here we demonstrate that their criticism is ill-founded.
