RAID is an applied research project whose goal is the development of an advanced environmental monitoring system based on innovative sensors and on wireless communication. It exploits Kaleidoscope, a reference architecture for monitoring and control systems, on and for electrical equipment and wireless communication, whose key issues are the careful separation among orthogonal dimensions (computation, distribution, and activation). This paper presents the main results of the exploitation of Kaleidoscope in the RAID case.

Abstract

RAID is an applied research project whose goal is the development of an advanced environmental monitoring system based on innovative sensors and on wireless communication. It exploits Kaleidoscope, a reference architecture for monitoring and control systems, on and for electrical equipment and wireless communication, whose key issues are the careful separation among orthogonal dimensions (computation, distribution, and activation). This paper presents the main results of the exploitation of Kaleidoscope in the RAID case.
