A new class of tribranched dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) sensitizers carrying two conjugated donors and two acceptor/anchoring groups is introduced. The approach leads to significantly different optical properties and enhanced stability with respect to related di- and monobranched dyes and yields power conversion efficiencies of up to 5.05 %, which is possibly limited by the computed nonoptimal dye packing on the semiconductor surface. © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Abstract
