In this paper we review recent results on the groundstate energy spectra of magnetic knots and links and compare these results with new results on bending energy of tight knots and links obtained by using RIDGERUNNER data on curvature. Remarkable similarities between the two systems are found. Comparative analysis between magnetic and bending energy at groundstate energy level shows that information based on bending energy provides a very good proxy for magnetic end-states.

Abstract
In this paper we review recent results on the groundstate energy spectra of magnetic knots and links and compare these results with new results on bending energy of tight knots and links obtained by using RIDGERUNNER data on curvature. Remarkable similarities between the two systems are found. Comparative analysis between magnetic and bending energy at groundstate energy level shows that information based on bending energy provides a very good proxy for magnetic end-states.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
