Estetica dello “sfioramento”, o dell’empatia e dell’ontogenesi

The article tries to rethink empathy outside of a paradigm centered on interiority, through a reversal of perspective that, through a path with multiple entrances, privileges the dimension of an exteriority that cannot be internalized and yet constitutes the feeling and being of the subject himself. If, as Arendt teaches, man can find in his artifacts the guarantee of his own consistency and subjective identity, on the other hand some places in the Weird literature evoke a world that is foreign and incompatible with any human idea of order and “cosmos”. This “order” finds, as Levinas teaches, its background in an impersonal “there is”, the notion of which inherits and reformulates the traditional concept of Being. It is the Being, thus intended, to activate the life of the “soul” through an affection whose paradigm is the feeling of horror, and to become a place of production, circulation and sharing of affects.

Il contributo cerca di ripensare l’empatia al di fuori di un paradigma centrato sull’interiorità, attraverso un ribaltamento di prospettiva che, attraverso un percorso a più entrate, privilegia la dimensione di un’esteriorità non interiorizzabile e tuttavia costitutiva del sentire e dell’essere del soggetto. Se, come insegna Arendt, l’uomo può trovare nei suoi artefatti la garanzia della propria consistenza e identità soggettiva, d’altra parte alcuni luoghi della letteratura weird evocano un mondo estraneo e incompatibile con ogni idea umana di ordine e di “cosmo”. Questo “ordine” trova, insegna Levinas, il suo sfondo in un “c’è” impersonale, la cui nozione eredita e riformula il tradizionale concetto di Essere. È l’Essere così inteso ad attivare la vita dell’“anima” attraverso un’affezione il cui paradigma è il sentimento dell’orrore, e a diventare luogo di produzione, circolazione e condivisione degli affetti.
