Anziani e nuove tecnologie: rischi e opportunità

In this paper, we provide an introduction to this special issue on older people’s use of Information and Communication Technology (Ict) in Italy. In the first part, we provide some background data on the ageing process that is going on in Italy (as well as in many other Western countries) and reflect on the relevance of Icts’use for older people’s wellbeing. We also present some preliminary data on Icts» use in Italy for different age groups. Then, we provide an overview of the papers published in this special issue. We conclude our introduction with some reflections on the challenges that the digital society poses for older people
