Abstract

An analytical and computer assisted bifurcation analysis is applied to a proportional-integral (PI) controlled continuously stirred chemical reactor (CSTR) with an exothermic kth order reaction. Special attention is paid to the detection of high cohesion bifurcations, like the Hopf bifurcation degeneracies. The CTSR's order of reaction and control gain parameters is also studied using this approach
