This paper proposes a recursive filtering algorithm for log-Rice signals generated by the envelope of noisy narrow band Gaussian signals through noisy logarithmic amplifiers. A class of filters is considered, and within this class the filter providing the optimal estimate (minimum error variance) is computed. Some simulations results are presented to evaluate the filter performances.

Abstract

This paper proposes a recursive filtering algorithm for log-Rice signals generated by the envelope of noisy narrow band Gaussian signals through noisy logarithmic amplifiers. A class of filters is considered, and within this class the filter providing the optimal estimate (minimum error variance) is computed. Some simulations results are presented to evaluate the filter performances.
