Traiettorie nell’antropologia culturale in Italia. Una conversazione con Francesco Remotti

The interview aims at grasping the intersection between the academic career of an influential Italian cultural anthropologist, Francesco Remotti, and the cultural, social and institutional developments of the discipline of anthropology in Italy since the Sixties. The conversation unfolds across three main concerns: the first is the intellectual and academic trajectory of one scholar as illustrated by the narrative of his interactions and relations with people and authors; the second is the formation of an autonomous disciplinary field for ethnological and anthropological studies in in the 1960s and 1970s in Italy, with its internal structure and cleavages; the third is the identification of the main turning points in the history of the Italian anthropological field with their effects on the institutional structure of the discipline.
