The paper deals with reactions prompted in the international community by the US Presidential Proclamation issued on 6 December 2017, recognizing Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel and relocating the US embassy to Jerusalem. After a failed attempt by the Security Council, the UN General Assembly adopted resolution ES/10-19, declaring as null and void any decision purported to alter the status of Jerusalem, calling upon all States to refrain from establishing diplomatic missions in Jerusalem and requesting all States not to recognize any actions and measures contrary to previous Security Council resolutions on Jerusalem. These reactions uphold the important role played by the obligation of non-recognition for dealing with cases involving serious violations of fundamental rules of international law.

Abstract
These reactions uphold the important role played by the obligation of non-recognition for dealing with cases involving serious violations of fundamental rules of international law.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
