The first decade of 2000 witnessed the boom of a new DIY culture that now is organizing itself around p2p communities for a de-centralized production of high-tech goods. Such communities (sometimes defined as Maker Movement) are reshaping the production processes and the way of conceptualizing the relationship between design and material realization of the product. The interview with Mark Grimes, one of the founders of the Makers Faire Africa, investigates many of these aspects, putting them in relation with social innovation and socialo entrepreneurship.

Abstract
The first decade of 2000 witnessed the boom of a new DIY culture that now is organizing itself around p2p communities for a de-centralized production of high-tech goods. Such communities (sometimes defined as Maker Movement) are reshaping the production processes and the way of conceptualizing the relationship between design and material realization of the product. The interview with Mark Grimes, one of the founders of the Makers Faire Africa, investigates many of these aspects, putting them in relation with social innovation and socialo entrepreneurship.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
