City is a very complex system from a sociological point of view. We have ‘things’ of many kinds, practices, memories etc. However, it is possible to conceptualize a knowledge-city, either with historical and analytical insights. Having a typology to deal with the many presences of knowledge in the real life of contemporary society (knowledge-society), it is also possible to set up a model for design to govern knowledge fluxes that take place within and across a city. We will therefore suggest a new look at city and giving some hints for its governance toward an open innovation.

Abstract
City is a very complex system from a sociological point of view. We have ‘things’ of many kinds, practices, memories etc. However, it is possible to conceptualize a knowledge-city, either with historical and analytical insights. Having a typology to deal with the many presences of knowledge in the real life of contemporary society (knowledge-society), it is also possible to set up a model for design to govern knowledge fluxes that take place within and across a city. We will therefore suggest a new look at city and giving some hints for its governance toward an open innovation.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
