Evoluzione paleogeografica e strutturale recente del bacino del fiume Albegna (Toscana meridionale)

In this paper a contribution to the reconstruction of the recent paleogeographic and structural evolution of the Albegna Basin (Toscana, Italy) is given. To this end we performed a geological survey of the Messinian to Recent deposits of this basin, comparing to the surrounding neoautochthonous basins (Ombrone-Orcia, Fiora, Radicofani). These different areas show, after the Tortonian, a partly common evolution that has been comparatively studied. Starting from the Quaternary structural setting the previous events are tentatively reconstructed. Together with the geological field work we performed a mesoscopic structural analysis, and also a photogeological analysis leading to the preparation of a photogeological structural map of the whole Albegna basin (1:50 000). -from English summary
