Abstract

Over the last twenty years, in Italy, the family has undergone profound changes. The traditional model of the married couple with children, at least two, has gradually flaking. In addressing the theme of the family, a first necessary reflection concerns its definition in the collective family consists of a couple (heterosexual) with (or, more recently, without) children, possibly enlarged the presence of grandparents or other relatives. However, next to the usual image of the family related to reproduction, are now numerous and numerically significant other forms of cohabitation between individuals, the purpose of performing other functions such as affecti on, mutual care, or simply sharing (spaces , time, resources). The relative importance of these relational structures (reconstituted families, same - sex families, single parent families) increased and progressively increases. T he introduction of modern family models ( i.e. cohabitation, single parenthood ) involved in the first instance the bands most elite, and only in recent years, this approach seems to have expanded to the rest of the population. The first hypothesis you want to check in this work is t hat the economic crisis has affected accelerating this process of enlargement. We will try, therefore, to examine, in particular, the effects of the crisis on women, focusing on the changes that have occurred both in access to employment opportunities, bot h with respect to the different ways in which they give over to the legitimate expectations related to biological reproduction
