Eleonas is the non-place of Athens (Augé, 1992) . Located on the outskirts of the core municipality but still central if looking at the wider urban sprawl, it is both a dumping area where the city rejects its waste (both social and physical) and a hub that connects with a multi-scalar elsewhere. This research note is the outcome of a short series of collective field visits undertaken in November 2024 by the authors. Endorsing an urban metabolism approach (Wolzman, 1965), it aims at showing how this neighbourhood functions as a digestive apparatus of Athens, hosting a whole set of specific organs, managing different forms of inputs and outputs of the city of Athens.
