This research surpasses previous studies on the reception of Pop Art in Italy by re-reading its artistic fortune in the Sixties. It identifies the socio-historical context and the features that characterized Italian Pop Art, and analytically reconstructs the Italian historical-artistic current within the national and international art system as it compared to the US.
