The invention relates to a new molecule/reagent family, N -(4-Aminobutyl)- N -ethylisoluminol anhydroglutarate (ABEI anhydroglutarate), for the covalent attachment of the chemiluminescent label N -(4-Aminobutyl)- N -ethylisoluminol (ABEI) to nucleophilic group containing molecules, as peptides and proteins, including antibodies, for the generation of labeled probes to be used in chemiluminescence-based immunoassays.
