Guido Veronese, PhD and PsyD, is a professor in the Department of Human Service "R. Massa" at the University Milano-Bicocca in Italy. Professor Veronese will be speaking on his study of the qualitative survey results from 200 children that more deeply explain the features of quality of life, drawing a picture of the child affected by ongoing political violence as competent and able to mobilize context-specific skills of survival. His focus is on the political dimension of the well-being of children as situated social actors engaged in the struggle for existence characterizing Palestinian history over the last 60 years, particularly concerning the increased mental health risks among children exposed to war and ongoing political violence.
