The thesis looks at the phenomenon of differentiated integration in the EU from a comprehensive perspective, comparing the different techniques of differentiated integration. In this vein, it highlights the possible risks that they present for the integrity and coherence of the EU legal order and the constraints exercised over differentiated integration and its implementation by legal rules and principles of EU law.
