The performance of the irradiate CMS forward pixel detector are discussed in the first part of the thesis. The analysed data are collected in a testbeam of a detector module irradiated up to 45 Mrad. The high absorbed dose has not compromised the detector response. In the second part, the feasibility of the analysis of the B_c decaying into J/psi + pion at CMS is expounded. The results are obtained for 1fb-1 and 200pb-1 of integrated luminosity.

Abstract

The performance of the irradiate CMS forward pixel detector are discussed in the first part of the thesis. The analysed data are collected in a testbeam of a detector module irradiated up to 45 Mrad. The high absorbed dose has not compromised the detector response. In the second part, the feasibility of the analysis of the B_c decaying into J/psi + pion at CMS is expounded. The results are obtained for 1fb-1 and 200pb-1 of integrated luminosity.
