The number of economic evaluations of medical treatments or policies to obtain certain results has grown. Cost-effectiveness ratios are useful to compare two treatments. It is possible to evaluate programs to reduce the harm caused by alcohol or the policies to cut down cars accident. At the same time the present economic crisis imposes to control the cost for such policies or health care. A new parametric technique for the construction of confidence intervals for the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio is proposed here. It is based on the distribution of the ratio of two normal variables. The method discussed always exists in spite of the classical method proposed by Fieller. Moreover the computation of such confidence intervals may be achieved in a feasible way. The analysis of the cost-effectiveness ratio is an important part of the decision making process when it is necessary to compare two interventions
