Abstract

The didactic laboratories linked to the Embodied Pedagogy course are part of the curriculum in Sciences of Primary Education Degree at the University of Milano-Bicocca. They have always been structured in small groups and in specific motorial classrooms based on intensive and experiential trainings. The Coronavirus emergency has forced teachers to completely reconsider their action in an online format. The challenge was to try – having in mind the specific and restrictive characteristics of Distance Teaching – to cultivate the “bodily presence” and - where possible - to highlight the unexpected values of the specific and emergency on-line setting, as its limits as well. Comparing many positive participant’s feedbacks, the outcomes of this experience made us frame some elements of this “pedagogical virtual device” which has a different composition from the classic pedagogical categories of space-time and body. This contribute examines from inside the specific development of the laboratories, uncovering critical issues but also new awareness, postures, key elements, “successful” solutions to share.
