The problem of explaining the left-right asymmetry of Weyl fermions in Kaluza-Klein theories is reconsidered. Since one has no spinor fields on a typical Kaluza-Klein space M × G/H, we reduce the Kähler-Dirac equation from M × G/H to M. This procedure yields a family of Weyl fermions of one definite chirality on M, which are all G-singlets. © 1984.

Abstract

The problem of explaining the left-right asymmetry of Weyl fermions in Kaluza-Klein theories is reconsidered. Since one has no spinor fields on a typical Kaluza-Klein space M × G/H, we reduce the Kähler-Dirac equation from M × G/H to M. This procedure yields a family of Weyl fermions of one definite chirality on M, which are all G-singlets. © 1984.
