Through a mixed-method research design, this study aimed at evaluating the impact of an educational play-based intervention with a CoderBot robot, in a pediatric short-term recovery ward. Results supported the idea that robot-based activities were associated with increased participant wellbeing (positive emotions). A statistically significant effect of age on scores was found: the activity seemed to be "optimal" for 4-10 years old children. Qualitative data highlighted that robot-based interventions were described by participants as new and technologically appealing.
