Moving from the international literature analysis this paper aims to investigate 1) if the International chain can support the development of Tourism and if yes 2) how their presence on the territories has contributed to change the shape of Italian tourism industry. In particular, following first a qualitative approach, the paper aims to describe the presence of International Hotel Chains in Italy considering how they changed in the last decades. The empirical research aims to represent an innovative perspective to analyze the new trend in the Italian tourism industry
