The study of fluid inclusions in rocks which experienced extreme P-T metamorphic conditions can provide valuable information on the composition of peak fluids, to some extent on their origin, and on fluid-rock interactions which take place in the lithosphere. A review is given, on the basis of the authors' experience, of the major results obtained by fluid inclusions studies in the fields of high pressure and ultrahigh pressure metamorphic rocks (eclogites), high temperature and ultrahigh temperature metamorphic rocks (migmatites and granulites), and high temperature and pressures mantle rocks

Abstract

The study of fluid inclusions in rocks which experienced extreme P-T metamorphic conditions can provide valuable information on the composition of peak fluids, to some extent on their origin, and on fluid-rock interactions which take place in the lithosphere. A review is given, on the basis of the authors' experience, of the major results obtained by fluid inclusions studies in the fields of high pressure and ultrahigh pressure metamorphic rocks (eclogites), high temperature and ultrahigh temperature metamorphic rocks (migmatites and granulites), and high temperature and pressures mantle rocks
