Abstract

Solar cells based on the kesterite structure highlight for being composed of earth-abundant and nontoxic elements and for possessing high absorption coefficient with a suitable band gap, but their photovoltaic performances are decreased by low open-circuit voltage. More efforts are still needed to further increase the cell efficiency of the Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 solar cells to reach competitive efficiency to CdTe and CIGS solar cells. This webinar deals with two of the more urgent issues of Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4: the relationship among disorder, defectivity and optoelectronic properties and the effects of alkali bulk treatment on cell parameters.
