We tested 10 SLI Italian school-age children, 10 age matched tipically developing children and 10 language matched tipically developing children in the production of direct object clitic pronouns and in the comprehension of quantifiers. Results confirm that while omission of direct object clitic is a clinical marker for SLI also in school-age children, the problems in the comprehension of quantifiers is milder in these children.

Abstract

We tested 10 SLI Italian school-age children, 10 age matched tipically developing children and 10 language matched tipically developing children in the production of direct object clitic pronouns and in the comprehension of quantifiers. Results confirm that while omission of direct object clitic is a clinical marker for SLI also in school-age children, the problems in the comprehension of quantifiers is milder in these children.
