The author presents a new way to understand the relationship between urban space and individuals in the urban studies. He offers a new research perspective introducing the framework of Environmental Psychology, giving some basic characteristics of the discipline and highlighting the connections with the Urban Sociology. An operative set of indicators, coming from environmental psychology’s studies, is provided in the end of this article. This interdisciplinary approach enhances the research about neighborhoods, opening new research scenarios and valorizing the dimension of urban space in the social analysis
