General practice is trasmitted to the students through the exercise of consultation. It’s important that tutors are aware about what they have to teach, what has to be shown during consultation, what methodology to use, what specificity and skills communicate to students. The recognition of professional identity is the background of tutorship in primary care. Methods. 23 GPs operating as tutors for students at the fourth year in the Medical School of Milano Bicocca partecipated to a one day vocational training to debate about their own professional activity and identity and, through this recognition, define the GP teaching role in the undergraduated medical education. The participants worked in groups following a multiple step path training. In the first one they chose a name and a logo representative of the GP specificity. Then, through the reading and analysis of literary pieces that described tutorship experiences, every group characterized this activity in general practice. Finally they depicted in a drawing what methodology of tutorship they felt more suited to teach general practice. Results. In the poster are shown the more representative drawings and key words that describe the training experience. From the consciousness of your own professional identity come contents to communicate to students and tutorship methodology suited to primary care environment. The result of this training was also that, at the end, the tutors group strongly agreed with the approach and methodology defined.
