This article tries to detect the different layers of Berber in the modern language of Guellala (Jerba, Tunisia). Its core is a Zanata dialect, but it also shares many features with other dialects such as Nafusi, Ghadamsi, Kabyle (probably tracing back to Ketama tribes) and Twareg (maybe a Hawwara heritage)
